Who Are We?

Hello, my name is Kirk Turner, I want to take a minute to tell you a little about myself and some insights I learned from getting my previous companies certified. I have worked in the manufacturing sector in California since 1979. I began as a machinist and worked my way up into management. I gained an interest in oilfield tools & equipment, which included Drilling, Completions and Production. My experience began on the shop floor where I was manufacturing, assembling, testing tools and equipment. I moved to a Quality Management position as my children began sports and other activities that I did not want to miss. This position included drafting and maintaining: API Q1, API 5CT, and ISO 9001 quality management system certifications, supervising inspections, and calibrations. This position was where I learned all the ins and outs of organizing, streamlining, and limiting the burdens of complying with and maintaining these certifications. I began consulting years later and here we are.

At K & A Quality Consulting, my staff and I work hand in hand with you to draft and implement a custom API or ISO Quality Management System. We minimize the processes that can hinder your day to day operations and maximize the processes which help you improve. We work directly with your employees so everyone understands the “why you’re doing, what you’re doing” so you are not doing paperwork for the sake of paperwork.

The advantages will be standardizing how you do things to better ensure consistency of your products or service and generating accurate records as evidence for yourself and your customers (these also add built in accountability of your employees). The process approach to managing will improve the way you do business with less need for micro-management by your managers and supervisors. We have developed numerous tools to organize as much paperless documentation to limit piles of paperwork. You may think your too small or you need to hire more people, the thought of obtaining a certification may seem out of reach, let me assure you this is not true.
